Work for Ilkley Literature Festival

Education and Outreach Worker

We’re looking for an experienced Education and Outreach Worker to develop and manage new and existing ways of working with our wide range of schools and community groups, setting up workshops, projects and author events.

You’ll be part of a small, friendly team and the role also includes involving schools, young people, low income families, excluded groups, BAME groups and individuals with all the Festival’s activities.

We expect the successful candidate will have excellent people skills, experience of setting up and managing events, workshops, projects and freelance arts workers in schools and community settings or related experience; strong experience of working with young people, excluded groups and with BAME communities; solid IT and admin as well as keen and imaginative understanding of the issues involved and a commitment to the Festival’s Equal Opportunities Policy and Race Equality and Disability Action plan.

Salary:                           £20,000 pro rata 2.5 days a week (0.5 of a full time post). ie £10,000 p.a.

Responsible to:                   The Festival Director and in her absence the Programme Coordinator.

Responsible for:                  Project workers, freelance workshop leaders, possible volunteers.
