2008 Festival
This year's Festival runs from Friday 3rd October-Sunday 19th October.
Tickets go on sale on Tuesday 26th August.
The first events have been announced and include:

Master storyteller, Hugh Lupton and musician Chris Wood exploring the life of John Clare

Schools' Programme
During the Festival, primary and secondary schools in Bradford, in Ilkley itself and in the market towns of Skipton and Otley enjoys an exciting programme of events and workshops.

Work or Intern at this year's Festival
Student Internships
The Festival is looking for two student interns to work on this year's Festival.
Interns get the chance to coordinate the Festival Fringe, act as the Festival Director's admin assistants and stage manage events during the Festival itself.
You'll work part time from mid July- end September plus evenings and weekends during the Festival itself.
We pay travel expenses and you will be paid for the stage management part of the role.
You'll need to be based in Yorkshire ideally with some previous event management and admin experience (can be as a student) and an interest in literature.
Previous interns have had a great time and gone on to work in arts administration, publishing and events management.

Festival Volunteers Coordinator (paid)
The Festival is looking for a someone with good admin and people managament skills to organise and administer the Festival's volunteer stewards.
This work (10 hours a week in August and September and all three weekends and every evening during the Festival itself when you will be supervising and supporting volunteer stewards across the Festival venues)) can initially be done from home or the Festival office.
You'll need good organisational skills and experience in managing people.

2008 Poetry and Short Story Competition
Entries for the 2008 ILF Short Story and Poetry Competion are now invited. The competition closes on 1st September 2008 and winners have the chance to read at the Festival.

Interpreted Events
Each year selected events, including our opening events, our Reader's Afternoon and our cabaret evening, are sign language interpreted.
