81. Writing Historical Fantasy with Sarah Brooks
Sarah Brooks, author of The Cautious Traveller’s Guide to the Wastelands, shows you how to use historical settings for fantastical ends. You’ll discuss the historical fantasy genre and explore ways of playing with history and fantasy in your own writing, from imagining alternative histories for real historical characters and settings, to using historical events as a jumping-off point or finding a “what if” moment to extrapolate how history might have turned out very differently. Take inspiration from history while using your imagination to spin off in weird and wonderful directions.
