Ilkley Lit Fest Summer Fringe – 19 August

Come and see local creatives perform in a range of artforms, in this free, outdoor event.

Thursday 19 August 6.30 – 8pm

Sisterhood, Solidarity & Peace – join Spoke co-founder Sharena Lee Satti and guest poets Laura Baldwin & Paula Horton in a sisterhood line up, sharing poems on womanhood and femininity.

That Steinberg & Simpson Sound – “a Jew and a Gentile walk into a bar…” long-time friends Ruth Steinberg and Terry Simpson explore their differences through poetry, song, story and jokes.

Love and Laughter Around the World – not everyone born in the Dales was a Las Vegas Showgirl or a BOAC Stewardess. Hear Rowena Harker Leder (Bunty) talk about her fascinating life.

Tim Ellis performs poems from his recent book Birder in the Bushveld. Prepare to meet elephants, ostriches, and a secretary bird!
