Selkie Press founder Tanya Shadrick (a rural working-class writer first published after forty) will be returning to the festival to provide six free mentoring opportunities for those wishing to build their creative confidence.
These sessions are aimed at emerging writers based in the North of England, particularly those from backgrounds which are currently underrepresented within the cultural sector. Deadline to apply for one of these opportunities is Tues 14th Sept, applicants will be informed by Mon 20th Sept if they have been successful.
Includes: 1hr phone call with Tanya Shadrick, followed by feedback on a written piece. If you are hard of hearing, alternative delivery of the mentoring session will be arranged. We will be in touch with successful applicants with available timeslots.

The purpose of these sessions is to build creative confidence: you do not need to be a published writer to apply.

While only six mentoring places are available, all applicants will receive a reading list of books that helped Tanya develop her practice as an artist and writer.
