About the poet
Jason Allen-Paisant is a Jamaican poet whose work addresses issues of time, race, class, and the environmental conditions that affect Black personhood. Thinking with Trees,his first full-length volume of poems, is forthcoming this summer (2021) with Carcanet Press. He lives in Leeds with his partner and two daughters. He’s also a lecturer in Caribbean Poetry & Decolonial Thought at the University of Leeds, where he also directs the Institute for Colonial and Postcolonial Studies.
