12. Lee Lawrence: The Colour of Injustice
Lee Lawrence was just eleven when his mother, Cherry Groce, was shot by police in his family’s Brixton home. He spent next 30 years fighting for justice and for the police to admit their wrongdoing.
Today, Lawrence helps marginalised people find their voice, manage conflict and achieve justice. Join us for a vital conversation as Lawrence shares deeply-researched stories of innocent Black British people – past and present – whose lives have been impacted by racial prejudice and bias in the UK.
This event has a limited number of bursary tickets available for people who might not otherwise be able to afford them. You can apply here.
There will be a BSL interpreter at this event.
This event is part of our Doing Justice strand.
