69. Olly Smith: Wine & Crime

The perfect pairing: Being entertained by Saturday Kitchen’s wine expert Olly Smith spilling the secrets of his first foray into crime fiction while you sip on a delicious glass of vino courtesy of Martinez Wines.

After starting out as a screenwriter, Smith became best known as the BBC food show’s exuberant wine host. He’s now returned to writing with Death by Noir, the first in a series of charming mystery novels featuring Barclay Flint – the idiosyncratic owner of a wine shop in an idyllic Sussex town – who is forced to turn detective when a local vineyard owner goes missing.

This event will be chaired by James Nash.

James is a writer and poet. He works at many of the major literary festivals in the North with regular appearances in Ilkley, Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, Scarborough and Bridlington Poetry festivals. He specialises in literary interviews in poetry, biography, fiction, theology, cooking, nature and the environment.
