36. John Kampfner: Braver New World
At a time when democracies seem paralyzed by fear and populations are turning inward, award-winning journalist John Kampfner travelled the world to find countries confronting such challenges with bravery and imagination. From Japanese inter-generational care homes to Viennese housing projects; from Moroccan solar farms to Finnish classrooms; Kampfner explores what creative solutions to big problems look like and how other countries are enacting radical ideas. He asks if the UK could learn from these innovative solutions – and questions whether we have the courage to try.
Colin is a Yorkshire-based author of three non-fiction books and a novel. Formerly, he was Director of the Bradford-based National Science and Media Museum, he worked for the BBC for 25 years firstly as a reporter, presenter and interviewer then later in senior editorial and managerial roles, including as Head of BBC Yorkshire.
