52. Duncan Hamilton: The Man Who Walked Out of the Sun

Celebrated sportswriter Duncan Hamilton fell in love with cricket because he first fell in love with Garry Sobers, the West Indian cricketing great. Hamilton counts himself as 'blessed' to have lived only a shilling bus ride from Trent Bridge during the years Sobers played for Nottinghamshire. The Man Who Walked Out of the Sun is both Hamilton's remembrances and a study of Sobers' brilliant career, tracking the rise and dominance of the world's first 'jet age' cricketer.

This event will be chaired by Simon Ashberry.

Simon began as a newspaper journalist and worked for the Telegraph & Argus for a decade. He covered music, arts, news and sport. He has hosted a show on BCB 106.6FM for more than 20 years. Simon was previously chair of Ilkley Literature Festival's board of trustees and presents events each autumn.
