40. Kersten Hall & Ralf Dahm: The Discovery of DNA
Who would have thought that one of the biggest discoveries in science came about thanks to a pile of old bandages oozing with pus? Authors Dr Kersten Hall and Dr Ralf Dahm take us back to the mid-19th century where, working in the freezing cold kitchens of Tübingen castle, young Swiss scientist Friedrich Miescher discovered DNA. Despite the discovery completely revolutionising science, medicine, and our understanding of our world, its finder is almost unknown. Drs Hall and Dahm revive the story of this forgotten pioneer and the impact he made on all our lives.
