74. Tom Fort: Lido Land – LIVE STREAMED
Journalist and travel writer Tom Fort makes a splash with his love letter to the lido. Join Fort on a fun-packed journey around the UK’s lidos past and present – including Ilkley Lido – and discover the surprising story outdoor pools can tell us about social trends, progress and political ideology. He laments the lidos we have lost, celebrates those saved by persistent community organising, and takes a frank look into their future.
This event will be chaired by James Nash.
James is a writer and poet. He works at many of the major literary festivals in the North with regular appearances in Ilkley, Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, Scarborough and Bridlington Poetry festivals. He specialises in literary interviews in poetry, biography, fiction, theology, cooking, nature and the environment.
