Statement on ILF & COVID-19

In light of the government’s new measures to curb the spread of the Coronavirus, we would like to remind our Friends that we are still able to offer our assistance to those being affected by the escalating pandemic.

The government has stated that everybody should remain at home except when it is absolutely essential. We strongly encourage you to follow this advice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of you and your loved ones. However, we recognise that self-isolation will be especially difficult for some. You have supported us over the years, and now it is our turn to support you. If you are struggling to access essential food or medical supplies, and are unable to ask for assistance from family or friends, we will do all we can to help. Please don’t hesitate to get in contact if you require assistance. Please email us at info@ilkleylitfest.org.uk or call us on 01943 601210.

If you are in need of urgent help or more support than we can provide during these times please call:

Unfortunately, The Grove Bookshop has temporarily closed. Keep an eye out on their website and social media pages to see when they reopen.

In the meantime we are looking at ways in which we can continue to support and engage with our local communities in this time of need. We have launched a new campaign ‘Be All Write’ – including a Writing Challenge, Audio from the Archive, a Weekly Book Quiz and Bob’s Book Club – which we hope will bring out the creativity in us all in these uncertain times.

Most importantly of course, please stay safe.

Best wishes,

All the team at Ilkley Literature Festival
