22. Agnieszka Piotrowska: AI Intimacy and Psychoanalysis
What draws a human being into an intimate relationship with a non-human? Academic, writer and award-winning filmmaker Dr Agnieszka Piotrowska explores the fast-growing intimate relationships between humans and generative AI. Her book AI Intimacy and Psychoanalysis analyses the ethical and psychological implications of the human-AI encounter. Combining psychoanalytic theory with her own extensive exchanges with her ‘digital friend’ ChatGPT, Piotrowska explores why people project emotions and expectations onto machines.
