27. John Murray Press: Proofs & Prosecco Party
Be first to discover two exciting new novels published in Spring 2027. The first, Wits, is a Restoration dramedy told exclusively in letters. Author Stephanie Bain is a writer and Olivier Award-nominated dramaturg.
The second, McParland, is a depiction of a ruthless age of American capitalism set in 1870s Philadelphia. Its author Michael Hughes is from Northern Ireland and has worked for many years as an actor under the professional name Michael Colgan.

This event is being chaired by Michelle Hodgson.
Michelle Hodgson is a writer, event presenter and Festival Director of the Huddersfield Literature Festival. A former book publicist and journalist, she has interviewed many writers on stage, including Ardal O’Hanlon, Joanne Harris, Rachel Joyce, Stuart Maconie, Mark Radcliffe and Sally Wainwright.
