68. Jeremy Hunt: Can We Be Rich Again?
A succession of economic shocks
has led to low growth, stagnant
living standards and divided
politics. As debt and taxes have
risen to record levels, many worry
that the UK economy is stuck in
a low-growth trap with ruinous
implications for future generations.
Former Conservative MP Jeremy
Hunt, who was Chancellor during
one of those shocks, believes that
in spite of appearances to the
contrary, Britain still has a lot going
for it, and that with some learning
from other nations, the UK’s
fortunes could turn around – more
quickly than we might think.
