Win a Mini Break With Our New Short Story and Poetry Competition!

To celebrate our new partnership, McCarthy and Stone are launching a writing competition with the chance to win a break at the Devonshire Arms Hotel!

McCarthy and Stone are asking Festival goers and local amateur writers, to pen short stories of up to 500 words or 20 lines of poetry on the theme of ‘View from the Window’. The judging panel will include Rachel Feldberg, Director of Ilkley Literature Festival, and Yvette Huddleston, Arts Correspondent and Editor of the Culture Section Yorkshire Post.

First prize is dinner for two and an overnight stay at the luxurious Devonshire Arms  and runners up will win prizes including afternoon tea at Bettys Tea Rooms, a Bettys Easter chocolate Hamper and tickets to the opening night of Ilkley Literature Festival 2017.

The winners will be announced at An Evening with Sally Wainwright and Ann Dinsdale on Wednesday 19 April.

The competition is open to anyone over 18 in the Yorkshire region  and entries should be sent to mccarthyandstone@mccann.com, with the subject header, ‘View from the Window Ilkley’ before the closing date of 27 March 2017.
